Twenty simple, filling meals made from what’s actually on our shelves — canned goods, dry goods, eggs, cheese, and the meats in our freezer. Including a few odd-sounding ones that will surprise you.
Cook ground meat to 160°F and all chicken to 165°F (a $5 meat thermometer is the best kitchen upgrade there is). Cook eggs until the whites and yolks are set. Get cooked rice and leftovers into the fridge within 2 hours, and eat leftovers within 3–4 days.
What’s on our shelves changes week to week — our volunteers are happy to point out what’s in stock and swap ideas. Got a pantry recipe your family loves? Tell us at your next visit and we’ll add it here.
